Non TRA – Transylvanian n28 carpathi FEMALE
CsapiCsabi GreyHeart holds a special place in the life of our cattery—not only as a stud male of exceptional genetic value, but also as a living reminder of the true “Csapi story.” He came to us from the village of Csapi, a peaceful settlement embraced by rolling hills, where the rhythm of nature moves more slowly and where, even today, naturally occurring, ancient Transylvanian cats still appear from time to time. It is as if Csabi brought this wild-born, ancestral dignity with him—every gesture radiates a quiet, restrained elegance.
Csabi is, by nature, a reserved tomcat who deeply appreciates when his own pace and the gradual building of his trust are respected. He is slow to befriend strangers, and even once he warms up, he still maintains that gentlemanly distance so characteristic of him. Yet for those he welcomes into his heart, he reveals his full personality: friendly, affectionate, craving love, and incredibly gentle with the females. His courtship behavior is balanced and considerate—never intrusive, yet confident and self-assured.

EXcELlENT 1
Csabi’s color is n28: a naturally black-based, beautifully shaded “hars”-textured coat, where the Carpathian markings and perfect ticking are excellently visible. His fur is exceptionally dense and well-structured, a highly valued inherited trait within the breed. His eyes shine in a deep amber tone, creating a stunning contrast against his darker coat and representing rare genetic value in breeding.
He forms particularly harmonious pairings with our blue (a28) and lighter, more contrasted females. In these combinations, the interplay of contrasts and the subtle variations created by the dilution gene become especially evident—one of the key elements in our efforts to stabilize color within the Transylvanian breed.
The phenotypic expression of the Carpathian color code—including the contrast between topcoat and undercoat—appears in exemplary form in Csabi. These characteristics are also significant from a population genetics perspective, as they contribute to preserving and stabilizing the natural pattern inheritance for future generations.
To us, CsapiCsabi GreyHeart is far more than just a breeding male: he is one of the foundational “building stones” of the Transylvanian breed, a bridge between the Csapi heritage and our modern breeding goals. His nature, character, and genetic qualities ensure that his descendants will help preserve the breed’s historically accurate appearance and its balanced, human-oriented temperament.
