CORA GreyHeart – The Blue Elegance of the Carpathian Line

We are delighted to introduce Cora GreyHeart, one of the most promising young females of the GreyHeart cattery. Cora was born on May 8, 2025, in the first litter of Haruto GreyHeart and Csapi Rózi, and from the very first moment she embodies everything we value so highly in the Transylvanian breed. Her color is a28, the blue variant, which represents the diluted form of the natural Carpathian genetic heritage—a rare and highly valuable shade in breeding.

Cora is exceptionally well-socialized, affectionate, and devoted. Her temperament is calm; she often observes the world quietly from the background, yet when she chooses to connect, she does so gently, lovingly, and with striking trust. She is a truly human-centered cat who forms quiet but lasting bonds with the people she lives with.

Her coat has a special “hars” texture, one of the natural features of Transylvanian cats. The Carpathian pattern is beautifully visible on Cora’s fur: the transitions between the lighter undercoat and the darker topcoat are clear and well-defined, and her paw pads are not black but display the characteristic shade of the blue color variant. These traits play an important role in preserving the natural, original appearance of the breed.

We are keeping Cora in our breeding program for good reason: her body structure, head shape, and the clear color of her eyes all indicate that she is a genetically valuable and promising female. Her blue color—thanks to the dilution factor—provides a special genetic advantage in our future breeding plans, contributing to the preservation and refinement of natural color variations.

From a scientific genetic perspective, the dilution gene (the “d” allele) is responsible for lightening black pigment into the blue shade. The stable inheritance of this gene plays a key role in maintaining the natural color spectrum of the Transylvanian breed. As a carrier, Cora not only preserves this rare trait but also offers an opportunity to fine-tune it for future generations.

For us, Cora GreyHeart is one of the foundation stones of the future: her elegance, balanced personality, and genetic value leave us certain that she will play a significant role in the development of the Transylvanian cat breed. We eagerly look forward to seeing her qualities carried forward through her descendants, continuing the beauty and uniqueness she so naturally represents.
